Amazing Youth Sunday Worship

The last Psalm, number 150, says:

Praise God with the trumpet sound, praise God with lute and harp! Praise God with tambourine and dance; praise God with strings and pipe! Praise God with clanging cymbals, praise God with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that breathes praise God! Praise God!

Recently, I’ve had many opportunities to worship in many different settings. In hotel banquet rooms on a ski trip. At Tall Oaks on retreat with our youth. At a youth ministers’ gathering in Florida, there were three opportunities to see the beach, which is worship in and of itself. In our own beautiful sanctuary on Sunday mornings. During avoda in Combs Chapel. Each of these worships have had their own style, perspective, and flair. The personalities of the worship leaders helped to make each of these services unique.

The worship experience on Sun., Apr. 13 stands out among all of these recent services. It took place in our sanctuary. The youth of Country Club led worship on Youth Sunday. And it was great! Such creativity. Such humor. Much depth. Betsy Dee, Jack Dee, and Daniel Stewart wrote the dramatic piece of the first half of the worship service—The Faithies! With dedication, they wrote to bring about a light-hearted, yet significant message. And all those who preached and served at the table stayed true to that message—faith without works is dead.

Thanks to all our youth who worked so diligently to be worship leaders for our congregation! Thanks to all parents and youth sponsors who helped in so many ways to encourage and support our wonderful youth! And thanks to our great God who brings us all together in friendship and ministry and worship!

Kelly
