The Kubins have three children: Spencer, who will attend Miami University of Ohio in the fall; Karlyn, who will be a high school junior; and Kathryn who will be in 7th grade.

Kip is a senior member in the law firm Bottaro, Morefield and Kubin, L.C. His primary focus is in litigation involving workers’ compensation, employment, Native American, administrative, and personal injury law.

Kip has served the church previously as co-chair of the Education Council, as the Administration Ministry representative to the Congregational Board, and on the Endowment Committee, serving for one year as Chair. He has taught Chi Rho Sunday School, and he and Leigh Ann have taught Couple Communication classes.

Kip looks forward to continuing his service to the church as the chair of the Congregational Board and anticipates an exciting year as we build on recent successes and pursue new goals in 2007-2008.

She has a master’s degree in education and taught in Jefferson City before moving to Kansas City in 1982 and joining Country Club Christian Church in 1984.

She met her husband, Alan, in the singles Sunday school class, and they were later married by Dr. George Gordon. Their son, Andrew, is active in CYF. Alan and Susan enjoyed teaching Andrew’s Sunday school class, and they are active members of the Vistas Sunday school class. Together, they served as co-chairs of the Education Council. The Garners have regularly attended Community Camp in Colorado.

Susan has served on the Congregational Board, chaired the Visioning Committee, Spiritual Growth Ministry, Enrichment Council, and the Design Team for redecorating the children’s classrooms. As a member of two mission teams, Susan traveled to South Africa in 2005 and New Orleans in 2006. Susan also teaches two weekly yoga classes on Monday mornings in the church Solarium.

“I look forward to serving this wonderful church and its members as we move forward into a new church year full of possibilities for our congregation, our community and our nation,” she said.
