As you walk up to the front
entrance on Ward Parkway, you should know that we expect
company. When you visit, you'll join the other 60 or
so adults who are visiting our worship services that
day, either for the first time or as a repeat visitor.
Isn't it nice to know you're not alone? Of course, many
visit during the week, taking part in the wide range
of activities we offer.
Since 1921, our congregation has welcomed people just
like you with worship and caring that focuses on God
and ministries that meet a variety of needs. We have
a history of community involvement and strong service.
Membership currently stands at 3,150.
You may have seen our church building on Ward Parkway
as you traveled to or from the Country Club Plaza. Its
tall exterior stone structure and large stained glass
windows are a beautiful sight. Let's open the front
door and I'll guide you through what we can offer you.
First, we come to an area marked Building Relationships. Building relationships describes
the group life of the congregation. As our guest, be
sure to take a look at the Home Fellowship Groups, Sunday
School classes and YaWhose, a new ministry to those
in their 20's and into their 30's.
Follow me to our right and
up the stairs and we come to Bible Studies and Classes.
Ours is a thoughtful faith. We want to learn and grow
and discover. So, we offer many different ways for you
to learn. Take a look at Discovery Class, which tells
you more about our church, or "Enneagram
of Personality Types," "Couple Communication
I." Sound interesting? Don't forget our Bible
studies as well.
Now, let me guide you down the corridor to our Serving Others section. Serving Others describes
ways in which you can take part in putting your faith
to work in concrete ways that benefit other people.
Grab a hammer or tutor a child, lead a project or serve
food to the homeless.
Included in our walking tour are several other areas
that may be of special interest to you.
Our Wedding
Ministry includes a marriage workshop,
a PREPARE inventory, and Couple Communication I and
Couple Communication II. Be sure to contact us well
before your preferred wedding date. Our calendar fills
up fast.
We host two weekday programs for children: Parents Day Out and Preschool. Both are
excellent.
Our Youth
Groups offer a full range of ministries
for youth, grades 6-12. Sunday morning sessions are
only a part of what our church offers.
Let's not neglect the Children's Ministries.
Your child will love our new creative, interactive Sunday
School plan we call "Fountains of Faith."
Other group meetings include: Boy Scouts, Alcoholics
Anonymous, Al-Anon.
Well, we've come to the end of the tour. Why don't you
stop in and see what we're like or call 816-333-4917. We'd love to talk to you.
