Grace at Work is a fun-filled half-day service event open to all ages and abilities. This fall the majority of our project sites will be with our Northeast Partnership agencies. Review the projects and agencies listed below, then fill out the sign up form and join us on Oct. 13.

Gather at The Concourse Park (Northeast KC) for Lunch & Fellowship. We encourage everyone, families, youth, and children to join us to celebrate our work with the community.

We are encouraging folks to carpool to the Northeast project sites. If you can drive a team, or if you need a ride that morning, let us know!

Project Opportunities

8111 Oak Street, KC, MO

Our Mission Partnership:
Providing KC Public School system with partners to improve the quality of education of children, assisting in basic food needs during the weekend, tutoring opportunities and partnering with teachers to improve classrooms

Project Details:
• Semi-annual Gardening/Grounds Clean Up including mulch, weeding, raking & sweeping

Great Project for:
• Working outside with your hands and gardening tools
• Easy tasks to do with your children and family
• Building relationships with church & community members

801 Benton Boulevard

Our Mission Partnership:
After-school care for community children to continue to build upon skills and lessons learned during the school day; including summer programs, food pantry, clothing services, and a community garden.

Project Details:
Working with the community gardens/orchard and grounds
Miscellaneous building maintenance projects

Great Project for:
• Youth & Families
• Working outside with your hands and gardening tools
• Small repair projects inside and outside the building
• Building relationships with church & community members

606 Gladstone Boulevard, KC MO

Our Mission Partnership:
Feeding, clothing, and health ministry for the low-income and homeless population in Northeast Kansas City through Independence Boulevard Christian Church

Project Details:
• Working in the clothes closet for weekly Micah Monday services
• Sizing and shelving adult clothes, i.e. putting together ladies “Sunday” outfits, by matching blouses to skirts, etc. or changing out summer for winter clothing

Great Project For:
• Organizational people who love sorting
• Being indoors and working hands-on with clothes and donations
• Building relationships with church & community members

The Concourse Park – 200 Benton Boulevard, KC, MO

Our Mission Partnership:
Work with the residents and organizations of Northeast Kansas City to continue to assess needs, desires, and vision for their community

Project Details:
• Participating in NEAT (Northeast Alliance Together) annual fall clean-up
• Working with neighborhood residents in picking up bulk trash items and returning to drop site

Great Project for:
• People who can utilize their trucks for cleaning up
• Being alongside of residents in Northeast KC to beautify their neighborhood
• Working in teams of 2-3 people who are able to be active all morning
• Building relationships with church & community members

500 Woodland Ave, KC, MO

Our Mission Partnership:
Low-income family and child-care, education tutoring for children, refugee resettlement through language teaching, job training, and basic cultural survival skills

Planting mums, installing bales of straw and locally crafted wooden pumpkins
