2013 Easter Offering for Healing and Hope raises nearly $18,000
Thank you for your generous contributions to this year’s Easter Offering. As of Apr. 8, $17,963 has been collected and will go to Sheffield Place, a local agency that provides shelter and transitional counseling services to homeless women with children in the Kansas City area, and the Samaritan Care Centre in South Africa, which cares for those who are infected and affected with HIV/AIDS, and also is bridging cultural barriers between the colored, black and white communities. These two projects will each receive half of this year’s Easter Offering. Easter Offerings are still being received, so if you would still like to participate, please send your check, marked “Easter Offering” to the church office or drop it in the offering tray on Sunday. The Outreach Council of Country Club Christian Church provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that promote care for humanity through services or programs. We seek to make investments in communities in the hope that they can be built upon, leveraged with other gifts, and remain intact as the cornerstones of community improvements.
Country Club Christian Church is a leading faith-based funder, awarding $250,000 in grants last year. Organizations receiving funding in the last few years varied but included local food pantries and shelters as well as Global Ministries for Flood relief in Central America and in Japan.
