The Personnel Committee announces the hiring of Tyler Heston as Country Club Christian Church’s new Minister to Youth.

Tyler holds a master of divinity from Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, TX, and a bachelor of liberal studies degree from the University of Memphis. Since August 2015, he has been the Assistant Minister for Youth at University Christian Church in Fort Worth, where he has coordinated youth programming and special events, participated in regional camps and retreats as a counselor and director, coordinated communications, and provided direction and leadership for the youth ministry team. Tyler has extensive experience working with middle school youth as a Sunday school teacher and mission trip sponsor at Central Church in Collierville, TN, where he grew up. He also served as a summer intern with both Mosaic Church in Chicago, IL, and the Friends of Jesus Fellowship in Detroit, MI.

Tyler brings a passion for youth ministry, as well as a belief that ministry to youth is a vital, not peripheral, task of the church. His work with University Christian Church has cultivated his skills for youth ministry, from relationship-building to project management and communication skills.

“Tyler is going to be a strong organizer and caring minister. His past successes have shown he can combine these two qualities to be successful, ” said Steve Bough, chair of the Minister to Youth search team. “We are thrilled to have him join the staff.”

“Tyler brings a brilliant mind and a compassionate heart to ministry,” said Rev. Carla Aday. “Under his experienced leadership, our ministry with 6th-12th graders will thrive and grow.”

Tyler will be at the June 13 Backyard Bash if you would like to meet him prior to his start date, Aug. 1.
