In about five weeks, a group of adventurers from Country Club Christian Church will be traveling to Estes Park, Colorado, for Christian Community Camp, led by Dr. Mike Graves and facilitated by April Booth and Rachel Clement.

Some have been attending Community Camp for decades while others will experience it for the very first time this summer. So why has Community Camp become a tradition? While the reasons for coming to camp are unique to each camper, there are several universal reasons that keep us coming back year after year.

BONDING. Research suggests that camping may be an ideal environment to enhance family relationships. Friendships certainly deepen and strengthen as well. Everyone at camp contributes. Everyone works together.

ACTIVITY: The YMCA of the Rockies and surrounding Rocky Mountain National Park motivate campers to get outdoors and explore.

SCENERY: The scenery is second to none and inspires a spiritual connection to the creator.

FRESH AIR: The cool, crisp air is refreshing and energizing.

RELAXATION: Ample free time gives campers opportunities for as much R and R as they want.

UNPLUGGED: While the lodges are equipped with Wi-Fi, it doesn’t take long for mobile devices to be neglected because the mountains are so much more compelling.

Whether you’ve been to camp dozens of times, or you haven’t given camping a second thought before, I’d encourage you to carefully consider registering for Christian Community Camp for 2020. We will be heading to the YMCA of the Rockies Aug. 1-8, 2020, and registration is already available on our website www.cccckc.org/community-camp-2020/ Keep in mind, all private rooms in two lodges filled up for 2019 Camp last JULY so it’s very important to register EARLY this year!
