Wedding Policies

Scheduling

Please schedule your wedding with us as soon as possible. Weddings are scheduled as far as 18 months in advance. Our sanctuary accommodates 900 people, including the balcony, and the chapel seats 130 guests, including the balcony.

Officiating Minister

A minister from the church staff will officiate all weddings. You should plan to meet with the officiating minister at least two months before your wedding to plan your ceremony.  Outside clergy who would like to assist with the ceremony are required to complete an application that must be approved by the officiating minister.

Great Start

To help you begin your life together, we provide GREAT START, a program designed to help you prepare realistically for marriage by building a skilled happy and growing relationship. This program consists of three events: the Wedding Workshop, Couple Communication classes and conferences with your officiating minister. Couple Communication is offered for free to couples married at the church, and is $35 for those not married at the church.

Coordinators

Country Club Christian Church welcomes outside wedding coordinators for your personal needs. A Wedding Facilitator from the church will be provided to you for your rehearsal and wedding day.

Music

Music is a very important part of your wedding and we are ready to help you plan that part of your service. You will be assigned an organist, and will be able to meet with them to discuss the many musical options you have. Because we view your wedding as a worship service, pre-recorded and secular music are prohibited during the ceremony. View the Music Planner Here

Vocalists and Instrumentalists

If you choose to have a vocalist and/or instrumentalist, please ensure that those individuals are coordinating with the organist, so that they may have time to rehearse, if necessary. A microphone is available for use by musicians.

Wedding Party

It is expected that the members of the wedding party will conduct themselves at all times in a manner acceptable to a place of worship. Alcohol is not allowed on the church grounds and tobacco use is not permitted in the building.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are scheduled closely together on Friday evenings and are limited to forty-five minutes, therefore it is important to be on time. Everyone involved in the wedding, including the bride and groom, attendants, ushers, candle lighters, scripture readers, parents and grandparents should be present.

Photographers

No flash photography is permissible in the sanctuary or chapel after the processional and during the recessional. The Wedding Coordinator will gladly discuss photography expectations and restrictions with you. Please review our photography guidelines and provide them to your photographer.

Videographers

Your ceremony may be videotaped from the balcony and/or chancel using available light only. Please review our photography/videography guidelines and provide them to your videographer.

Flowers

Please review our floral guidelines and provide them to your florist.

Parking

The Chapel parking lot will accommodate approximately 100 cars. Side streets may be used for parking around the main church building. Parking is not permitted on Ward Parkway on Saturdays.

Children

You may request childcare during the ceremony for an additional charge of $40.00.

License

A Missouri marriage license is required and can be obtained from any county courthouse in Missouri and is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance.

Fees

The fee for using either the Combs Chapel or the main Sanctuary is $2000.  This fee includes an ordained minister, an organist, an on-site wedding coordinator, use of candelabras, a one-hour wedding rehearsal, a three hour block on the day of the wedding and all pre-marital work.  Not included in this fee are wedding-day childcare (available upon request for an additional fee) and any outside vocalists or instrumentalists.

Next Steps

We look forward to helping you grow together spiritually as a couple. We would love to have you join us in fellowship, whether through worship, Sunday school classes, support groups, or volunteer opportunities.  There are plenty of ways Country Club Christian Church can continue to provide a spiritual home throughout your marriage.
