Last Day in the Clinic

admincccckc 2013 Nicaragua Mission Trip

Today was our last day in the medical clinic. We saw 82 patients in the clinic. We also had medical providers who went out and did home visits on a motorcycle and on foot. This accounted for around another 20 visits.

Today I saw the most beautiful 2 year old. She looked at me with the biggest smile. She reached for my hand and took me for a walk in the middle of clinic. I am so grateful to receive a little of her joy. While many of us have experienced this, there is also a sense of sadness and frustration. Because there are some parents who don’t have enough money for paper and pens so a child can go to school.

Today someone said that on our corner of Ward Parkway, we live a very different life than the rest of the world. This is certainly true. But from our little corner of the world we have created a strong partnership and a long lasting friendship.
