Last week, 11 youth and four adults went to Des Moines, Iowa, for a few days of service, learning, and exploring. The team partnered with three different organizations for service: JOPPA, a grassroots organization seeking solutions for homelessness; IMPACT, a community action partnership that offers relief and aid to people experiencing poverty; and the Salvation Army in Newtown, Iowa, works to provide a variety of relief and assistance to people in rural Iowa. The team celebrated its service and learning with an afternoon at the Christian Conference Center in Newton and a day at Adventureland theme park.
