The team spent Monday morning at the National Museum of Haiti learning about the history of this country. The country as a slave colony found its independence in 1804, and since has had both times of peace and of strife.

The colonization and and continued strife has had an impact on the psyche of the country. Our afternoon was again spent with our host organization Conaspeh. Our team met with the Conaspeh board of directors and learned about the workings of the organization in terms of how it works with its 8000 plus member churches. We met with students at the Conaspeh school, who were the equivalent of high school seniors in the US. They were a group of 71 who had great enthusiasm and an interest in our mission.

The team finished the day at the guesthouse with a lengthy meeting discussing the opportunities and challenges of any potential working partnership in Haiti.
