Cross-Lines Community Outreach

The first Tuesday of each month volunteers from Country Club Christian Church serve a Taco Salad lunch to 150-225 people at Cross-Lines Community Outreach Food Kitchen in Kansas City, Kansas. Serving time is 11:30 am to 12:50 pm. Volunteers arrive between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. The meal is commonly referred to as “Taco Tuesday” by the guests and is very popular. Country Club Christian Church has partnered with Cross-Lines since 1988.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Serve Food: A crew of 10 is on board each month to bring and serve food and wash dishes. The standing crew is in place but subs are sometimes needed so please sign up as a sub if interested.

Cook Taco Meat: There is a need each month to cook 35 to 50 pounds of hamburger meat with seasoning for the taco salad. Many Sunday school classes have done this as a project as well as other Church groups such as the Choir, Staff, Elders and Deacons etc. There is an ongoing need for a crew of two or three to cook each month. Several months are currently available. The cooking is done in the church kitchen.

Give: You can participate with your donations marked for the Cross-Lines Food Kitchen. All donations are used to buy the items needed for the lunch which includes milk, cheese, lettuce, taco seasoning, meat, salsa, beans, lemonade and desserts.
