Guest Speaker, Sly James: Building Cities for Our Children

Sly James, former mayor of Kansas City, will be the speaker at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner celebration on Thur., Nov. 21.

Since we are expecting a large number of guests this year, please arrive by 6:00 p.m. to get parked, checked-in and seated.

We will do our best to open the buffet lines by 6:15 p.m. to allow you plenty of time to enjoy your dinner and dessert before Mayor James begins his presentation.

Sharing Our Abundance

Our Thanksgiving Dinner is one of many opportunities to share with our neighbors who are hungry in the Kansas City area. Please join the Metro Mission Team as we partner with Della Lamb Community Services, Grace United Community Ministries and Cross-Lines Community Outreach to help alleviate hunger during the holiday season. When we gather at the Thanksgiving feast, we can say boldly that when we eat, everyone deserves to eat.

Please help support our neighbors this Thursday by bringing the following items to donate. We will also be collecting monetary donations to support the purchase of food items.

  • Instant mashed potatoes: 13 oz box
  • Turkey gravy mix
  • Package stuffing mix
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Chocolate cake mix
  • Chocolate frosting mix
  • Apple pie filling
  • Stainless steel forks and spoons
