September 26, 2025. Community Highlight: Kellen Msseemmaa is the leader and founder of Empowered Girls. Empowered Girls strives to empower young girls in the Maasai community with confidence, leadership, and resilience, as well as practical skills to support themselves. They also run Enlightened Boys, which instills positive masculinity into young boys. Together, they aim to break the cycle of oppression and lack of opportunity among the women of the Maasai Community. What an honor it has been to support this organization.
August 31, 2025. Happy Sunday! Within the arid lands west of Arusha, we found ourselves in the fertile rift valley in the small village of Engaruka. We began our morning attending worship. We then met with kids at a local boarding school to learn beading and we painted wooden butterflies to bring with us on the journey home. We’ll be staying outside in tents for the night. A beautiful night to gather in fellowship under the stars.
August 27, 2025. We began our morning at another BCC center catered to young adults. Here the teens learn cooperative skills like farming and raising chickens, sewing, and craftwork. This is their final step in the program, allowing them to leave with marketable skills in the Tanzania economy.
August 26, 2025. Today we are so proud to have worked alongside BCC and the church community in the Hai District. Together, we planted over 1,000 crops that will become a source of food and funding for the church and its people. The Hai District is the largest of the northern districts, containing over 50 parishes within its borders.
