We’re keeping summer simple—in the best way. Join us for a series of easy, welcoming evenings filled with good food, laughter, and time together. Each week offers something a little different—games, music, creativity, and meaningful moments—with plenty of space for all to feel at home.

Come when you can, stay as long as you like, and bring a friend if you’d like. These gatherings are meant to be flexible, joyful, and rooted in connection. Optional classes follow most evenings at 7pm.

Wednesday, June 3
5:30–7:30pm | Summer Pop-Up Kick-Off!
Kick off the summer with a relaxed evening for all ages—there’s something for everyone! We’ll have grilled hot dogs and brats, popcorn, and Kona Ice (for sale), along with live music from Tim Whitmer, and plenty of space to gather and enjoy time together. Kids can enjoy the bounce house while everyone settles into a fun, welcoming start to our Summer Pop-Up series.

Wednesday, June 10
5:30–7pm | Yard Games & Pickleball Night  | Centennial Park
Join us for an easygoing evening of yard games, pickleball, and good company in Centennial Park—fun for all ages. We’ll share a simple pasta dinner and enjoy time outdoors together, whether you’re playing or just visiting.
7pm Class: Rev. Dr. George Gordon will discuss why the Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh is so fond of Jesus.  Based on the book “Living Buddha, Living Christ” by Thich Nhat Hahn.

Wednesday, June 17
5:30–7pm | Juneteenth Social & Potluck | Social Hall
All are welcome for this meaningful evening of fellowship and reflection. We’re honored to partner with Swope Parkway United Christian Church for a Juneteenth celebration featuring a soul food potluck. Together, we’ll create space for connection, learning, and community across generations.
7pm Class: Provocative discussion with Robert Johnson about his original poem entitled “Free People to Slaves.”

Wednesday, June 24
5:30–7pm | Soccer Match Watch Party | Centennial Park
Come enjoy the excitement of the global soccer match with a casual watch party in the park—fun for all ages. We’ll have two matches playing, a Brazilian-inspired menu, and soccer activities for kids. It’s a great way to gather, cheer, and be part of the global energy together.

Wednesday, July 8
5:30–7pm | Music Trivia Night  | Centennial Park
There’s something for everyone at this lively night of music trivia! Enjoy a fresh salad bar while testing your knowledge (or just cheering others on) in a fun, low-key evening full of laughter and friendly competition.

5:30–7pm | Bingo Night  | Centennial Park
A crowd favorite for all ages! Join us for bingo, prizes, and a relaxed summer evening together. We’ll serve burrito bowls and keep things simple, fun, and welcoming for everyone.

Sunday, July 19
2pm | Soccer Championship Watch Party & Service Project  | Centennial Park
Gather with us for an afternoon of connection, generosity, and fun for all ages as we watch the Soccer Finals. Bring a snack to share and take part in our tennis shoe drive as we combine community and service with a little friendly cheering.

Wednesday, July 22
5:30–7pm | Painting in the Park | Centennial Park
Slow down and get creative at this all-ages evening of painting outdoors—no experience needed, and all supplies are provided. We’ll have a grilled cheese bar and a relaxed atmosphere for creativity, conversation, and connection.
7pm Class: Retired DOC minister, Rev. Linda Walling will lead a discussion about faith and politics.

Wednesday, July 29
5:30–7pm | Story Slam Night | Social Hall 
Everyone has a story. Join us for an evening of storytelling where members of our community share short, meaningful, or humorous stories—something for all ages. Bring a dish for the potluck and come ready to listen, laugh, and connect. (Interested in sharing? A sign-up link will be available.)

5:30–7pm | All-Church Picnic | Centennial Park
We’ll wrap up the summer with a classic all-church picnic—fun for all ages! Enjoy a cookout with hot dogs and hamburgers, connect with friends old and new, and get a glimpse of what’s ahead this fall, including opportunities to get involved.
