Jeff Zimmerman will become chair of the Congregational Board and Anne Hoffman will be chair of the Elders for the 2019-2020 church year, beginning July 1.

Jeff has been a member of the church since 1978. His wife, Jan, grew up in the church so when they married 41 years ago, it was a natural fit for him to become a member as well. Jeff has previously served in a number of roles including several terms on the board; chair of the elders; treasurer; adult education and worship ministry team chairs; and as an adult Sunday School teacher.

Jeff was born in Columbus, OH, and moved to Kansas City in the seventh grade. He attended Shawnee Mission East High School, Fort Hays State University and KU Law School. He has practiced law since 1977, in the same office in downtown Shawnee since 1989. Jeff and Jan’s two children, Heidi and Jonathan, are also members of the church along with their five grandchildren.

“The church is in a period where the Spirit of God is definitely active and moving among the congregation,” said Jeff. “I want to see a tangible continued growth by doing what I can to make sure the Church provides individual opportunities to accomplish that. I love the people in this church and love to see the love they share with one another and the community.”

Anne is a lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination and was born into membership here. Her parents are Keith and Joanne Montgomery. Anne has previously served as a deacon and an elder; on the board; as chair of the design and the enrichment ministry teams; as a Sunday School teacher; thanksgiving dinner chair; and leader of the Family Mission Trip.

Anne attended Kansas State University, and she and her husband, Stuart, were married by Dr. Gene Brice in 1988. They have two grown sons: Riley, who lives in Kansas City; and Parker, a student at the University of Massachusetts.

During her term as elder chair she hopes to effectively communicate ways for elders to engage and support church programs, ministers and members; and to grow the Circles of Care program.

“I’m so very proud to be an active member of this wonderful church home and hope to inspire and connect with current and new members to grow in their faith and serve in the many ministries of Country Club Christian Church,” Anne said.

Anne is the Manager of Administration & Marketing for OnSite Solutions, LLC, in Mission, KS. She is also an accredited rug hooking/fiber art instructor and enjoys teaching classes through her hobby business partnership, Heart & Hare Rugs LLC.
