you may remember last year, we picked up a hitchhiking n.c. doctor in houston on our way to  nicaragua.  doug fit in instantly and was not only an enthusiastic member of the team but a blessing to all of us who got to know him.  some of you may have met him this past september when he and his lovely wife came to kansas city for a few days (for a wedding or some such thing).

this year, doug returns and brings with him mike, josh, paul and 45 handmade dresses from ethel bridgers.  (doug is second from the left…everybody else is in order.)

i’m not sure why, but doug assures me he and his cohorts plan to dress this way for the whole trip.

knock yourself out guys.  (i’m wearin’ shorts.)

fyi… we pick up a couple more folks along the way this year too. ken from dallas and graham from costa rica.  this year, a truly global mission trip.  pretty cool.
